HR/HEALTH & SAFETY PERSONNEL

  • Onsite
  • Full Time
  • Monday – Friday (8-5)
  • Salary position with benefits
  • 3 month probationary period for HR position

Human Resources

  • Plan, develop, implement, and evaluate human resources policies and programs (including days off policies and sick day requirements)
  • Advise managers and employees on the interpretation and application of human resources policies.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain safety policies, procedures, and guidelines in accordance with provincial occupational health and safety legislation and standards.
  • Prepare and maintain confidential employee files and HR records.
  • Track employee probationary periods, evaluate performance, write reviews, and training requirements.
  • Initiate HR professional development opportunities to ensure he/she remains current in his/her position
  • Coordinate HR department activities to ensure alignment with company goals and objectives.
  • Mediate employee relations issues, labour disputes, grievances and give a copy of reports to management.
  • Establish and maintain effective communication with external organizations, including government agencies and safety organizations.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation for safety inspections, incidents, and training, and oversee all internal health and safety documentation and procedures.

Hiring & Training

  • Assist with recruitment activities, including posting job advertisements.
  • Review applications and coordinate/lead interviews.
  • Final interview recommendations are given to management for them to make final decisions alongside HR personnel.
  • Conduct reference checks.
  • Prepare employment documentation.
  • Coordinate employee orientation and onboarding.
  • Maintain employee training records.
  • Develop and administer the performance review process.

Employee & Environment Support

  • Respond to employee inquiries regarding company policies and procedures.
  • Assist with employee relations matters.
  • Support employee recognition and engagement initiatives.
  • Help organize company events and activities.
  • Promote a safe, healthy, and compliant work environment for employees and visitors.
  • Investigate workplace incidents, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
  • Conduct regular workplace inspections and audits to identify hazards and ensure compliance with health and safety requirements.
  • Research health and safety practices and recommend improvements.
  • Monitor and stay up to date on safety regulations, codes, standards, and industry best practices to support continuous improvement.
  • Support emergency preparedness and response efforts, including developing and maintaining emergency preparedness plans and procedures.
  • Deliver regular, engaging safety training sessions to promote awareness and reinforce safe work practices.
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of safety strategies, plans, and procedures, and implement improvements as needed.

Qualifications

  • College diploma or university degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Office Administration, or a related field.
  • Two or more years of administrative experience, preferably in Human Resources.
  • Experience in an industrial or skilled trades environment is considered an asset.
  • CPHR designation, or progress toward obtaining one, is considered an asset.
  • Valid Class 5 Driver’s Licence.
  • Ability to travel occasionally between company locations.
  • Criminal Record Check may be required.
  • Health and safety certifications (e.g., CSO, HSA, or NCSO) are highly preferred.

TIRE SERVICE TECHNICIAN

Duties:
– Mounting/Installation of tires
– Balancing and Rotation of tires
– Repairing flats
– Completing visual inspections
– General housekeeping of shop areas
– Assisting in other tasks as needed

Requirements:
– Good communication skills
– Proven work experience as a Tire Technician
– Attention to detail
– Extensive knowledge of tire patterns and material composition
– Ability to lift heavy objects
– Maintain safe work practices
– Be a team worker in a busy environment at different times of the seasons
– Work overtime as required
– Be honest, punctual and reliable
– Show a willingness to learn
– MUST have a current, VALID Driver’s License
– MUST be mature, responsible and conduct yourself in a professional manner
– Ability to multi-task on a daily basis
– Be able to work independently and be a team player

WAREHOUSE EMPLOYEE

LOCATED IN WINKLER ONLY

Duties:
– Loading and unloading tires
– Organizing the warehouse
– Assisting in other tasks as needed
– General housekeeping of shop areas

Requirements:
– Must be able to do heavy lifting.
– Must have a valid drivers license
– Independant worker
– Good communication
